The Seven Shields Framework ("Seven Shields," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit our website or use our resources, how we use it, and the choices you have. Given that our work is about protecting families, we take your privacy seriously.
Who we are
Seven Shields is a child digital-safety education brand created by Alexis Rucker. We provide educational assessments, guides, and toolkits for parents, schools, and communities. You can reach us any time at hello@7shields.org.
Information we collect
We collect only what we need to provide our resources and communicate with you:
- Information you give us: When you take our Family Readiness Assessment or sign up for updates, you may provide your first name and email address.
- Assessment responses: Your answers to the assessment are used to generate your personalized results. We may retain a summary score (for example, "22/42") associated with your email so we can tailor what we send you.
- Purchase information: If you buy a product, payment is handled by our third-party checkout providers (such as Gumroad and Amazon). We do not collect or store your payment card details ourselves, and those providers handle your payment under their own privacy policies.
- Automatically collected information: Like most websites, our hosting and email providers may collect basic technical data such as general location, browser type, and pages visited, to keep the site running and secure.
How we use your information
- To deliver your assessment results and any resource you request.
- To send you occasional updates, safety tips, and information about our products — only if you've opted in.
- To respond to your questions when you contact us.
- To improve our resources and understand what's helpful.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that help us operate — for example, our email platform (MailerLite), our website host (Netlify), and our checkout providers (such as Gumroad and Amazon) — and only so they can perform their function. We may also disclose information if required by law.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe any time. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link. One click and we stop.
- Access or deletion. You can ask us what information we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, by emailing hello@7shields.org.
- Depending on where you live (for example, under GDPR or CCPA), you may have additional rights over your data. We honor those requests — just contact us.
Children's privacy
Our resources are created for parents and educators about children — they are not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Data retention & security
We keep your information only as long as needed to provide our services and communicate with you, and we rely on reputable providers with industry-standard security. No method of transmission over the internet is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "last updated" date above. Continued use of our site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
